1310 Life Series U-Joint

DAN5-1310X. 1310 life series u-joint with external clips. This is the most common Jeep or 1/2 ton vehicle driveline u-joint. This u-joint can be found in drivelines from the early 40's to the present. This u-joint is made by Dana Spicer, and is very high quality. The u-joint measures 3.2188" across, and has 1.0625" diameter caps. It comes with 4 external clips.

This u-joint does NOT have any grease zerks. The new life series u-joint utilizes a solid cross section to greatly improve strength and service life. Now that there's no voids/grease channels traveling through the cross section Spicer sends each u-joint with just the right amount of grease. Do not add grease or switch the caps on the cross section! Doing so will create either too much grease or too little grease in the caps that were switched and lead to premature u-joint failure. DO NOT ADD GREASE OR SWITCH THE CAPS! We usually mark the cross and the corresponding cap so that the correct cap goes on the correct cross end when assembling the u-joint in the driveshaft.
